Apply same widget more than once and configure

It would be nice to be able to apply a widget type and configure/customize the data set for that widget to avoid users needing to 'filter' on the fly. For example, the Project Sight Assignment Status widget - it has a drop down for where things are 'assigned' but if I want to highlight just punch lists, I cannot duplicate this widget to do that.

Can you extend functionality here so we can add more than one of a widget type with configurations so we can set them to specific content?
